2015 was much like every year I've farmed, much different than the one before it. May was very dry but we were able to plant corn and soybeans on time, June was very wet and it was a struggle at times to get peas harvested and the soybeans planted behind them but the job got done. July was an average month weather wise, wheat was harvested quickly and double crop beans were planted immediately as the combines left the fields. July weather was average but August and September really tested the crops as we recieved only 1.5" of rains both months combined. Harvest started sooner than average this fall and overall we were pleased with crop yields. The weather for the most part all fall enabled us to plant winter wheat on time and the warm fall has gotten the crop off to a great start. Harvest was complete on Sunday November 15th. Now the fun of equipment clean up will begin, if the weather cooperates we will start spreading lime and turning ground over for next years corn crop when we are done power washing.
